On Friday, Feb. 10, Stephen Felix, a 52-year-old male from Olathe, was brought to Montrose Memorial Hospital by the Olathe Ambulance in an unconscious state. Radiologic examination revealed traumatic injuries and an acute subarachnoid hemorrhage over his brain.

The Olathe Fire Protection District (OFPD) will head to the ballot this spring for additional dollars from property taxes to fund the ambulance division. The requested 3.0 mill levy increase from property taxes will enable the district to maintain current levels of service for the community's medical and fire-related needs.
