When Alice Marie Slaven talks about quilting her passion and humor are contagious. Whether you quilt or not, you will find yourself imagining aisles of colorful textiles, laughing quilters sharing jokes and ideas, and babies and newlyweds wrapped in beautiful quilts.
"Quilts and Felt and All Things Fiber," an exhibit of textiles by North Fork area artists, is open through Aug. 27 at the Blue Sage Center for the Arts. The center is located at 228 Grand Avenue, Paonia.
A collection of donated quilts will be on display at the museum on March 18 from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. at 180 S. 2nd Street in Hotchkiss. Admission to the museum will be free for that day.
The 21st annual Black Canyon Quilt Show is scheduled July 8-10 at the Montrose Pavilion. Over 150 quilts can be viewed 9-5 Friday and Saturday and 10-4 Sunday. General admission is $4.
The Basket Case Quilt Guild and Surface Creek Quilters are joining forces for a quilt show at the Delta Middle School gymnasium April 8 and 9. The show is open Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
