In 1970 the Colorado legislature established a requirement for hunters to complete an education course. The goal was to reduce the state's fatal and non-fatal hunting accidents.
A traditional hunter education class will be held at the Technical College of the Rockies Feb. 12-16.
This hunter education course is spread out over four nights, from 5:30 to 9 p.m.

A traditional hunter education class is scheduled July 13-16 in the Enterprise Room of Delta-Montrose Technical College. Class times are 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Total class time is approximately 14 hours.
Two hunter education classes will be held at the Delta-Montrose Technical College during the month of March. Classes are held in the Enterprise Room.
People in western Colorado who want to hunt this fall but do not have a hunter safety card should sign up for the home study hunter education class, now being offered by Colorado Parks and Wildlife.
Students must complete the knowledge-based portion of the class on the Internet at their own pace.
Hunter education classes are scheduled Feb. 15-19 in the Enterprise Room of Delta-Montrose Technical College.
Class will be held Monday. Tuesday and Wednesday from 1 to 5 p.m., and again Friday, Feb. 19, at 1 p.m. Total class time is approximately 14 hours.
