The Delta Volunteer Fire Dept. responded to a rescue call in Escalante Canyon Saturday, July 14, around 4:05 p.m. The call was reported as people trapped in a flash flood at the potholes.
The BLM is offering a monetary reward for information leading to the identification of those responsible for vandalism in the potholes recreation site in Dominguez-Escalante National Conservation Area. The vandalism consists of more than 50 illustrations, words, and abbreviations spray-painted on rocks between the parking area and the swimming holes.
On the morning of June 8, a family member spotted the body of Bryan Reim a short way downstream from where he had jumped into the potholes on June 3.
Reim, 35, of Delta was enjoying the area with friends and relatives when he jumped into a pool and failed to resurface.
