The Hive Paonia Art Gallery will exhibit paintings by Marvin Swallow, Sundance and Ceremonial Chief in the Lakota Tradition, from Feb. 19 to April 15.

Marvin Swallow paints "images of time before and after the moment," whispering sacred stories of the beauty and mystery of creation. North Fork Valley residents first invited Chief Swallow to the valley several years ago to bless and pray for their land. He is honored to return to share his artwork and story.

A public opening reception and prayer with the artist will be held Friday, Feb. 19 from 7-9 p.m. at the Hive, 130 Grand Avenue, Paonia. Doors will open at 7 and the prayer will begin at 8 p.m.
