Lawrence Earl "Larry" Colclasure of Cedaredge died Oct. 23, 2017. He was 82.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov. 11, at 10:30 a.m. at the True Life Church (formerly Cedaredge Assembly of God) with Rev. Bob Hillyer officiating. Prior to the service, a private family internment will be held at the Cedaredge Cemetery.
Mr. Colclasure was born in Boulder with his twin brother, Gerry, on May 5, 1935, to Walter and Verleen (Daily) Colclasure. He graduated from Boulder High School in 1954, and then served in the Colorado Air National Guard and volunteered with the Boulder County Fire Department. He worked for Mountain Bell Telephone Company while in Boulder.
On Nov. 22, 1959, he married Joy Harrop. They had three children and moved to Cedaredge in 1973. He worked for TDS Phone Company. His wife, Joy, died Aug. 17, 1985.
On May 11, 1996, he married Monica Scharf in Cedaredge. He retired later that year.
Mr. Colclasure was a member of the Assembly of God (True Life Church) in Cedaredge, a member of the men's group and an ambassador for the Promise Keepers.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with family, square dancing, traveling, scenic drives and working on cars.
He is survived by his wife, Monica; daughter, Julie Colclasure of New Castle; sons, Ricky (Joy) of Alpharetta, Ga., and Mark of Delta; stepchildren, Ray (Jane) Borsick of Norwalk, Ohio, Bob (Missy) Borsick of Topeka, Kan., Karen (Loye) Green of Omaha, Neb., and Sue (Bud) Aldridge of Montrose.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joy; brothers, Gerald (Gerry) and Walter (Wick); and his sister, Anita.
