From the Delta Police Department:
Clayton J. Ochs, 18, of Olathe was arrest and jailed for alleged two counts of possession 2 of a Schedule II controlled substance, possession of marijuana (under 21) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Jeremy M. Jones, 40, of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged habitual traffic offense/driving under revocation prohibited.
Ryan W. Cole, 30, of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged criminal mischief and obstruction of telephone service.
Tierra M. Higgs, 20, of Delta was issued a ticket for alleged speeding (42 in a posted 30 MPH zone), drove motor vehicle while license cancelled/denied, possession of marijuana (under 21) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Clinton S. Stults, 28, of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged third degree assault.
A 16-year-old male of Delta was issued a ticket for alleged discharge of guns prohibited (Air Soft).
Citations: Nine tickets for traffic violations were issued this week, five for speeding.
Please remember: All criminal charges are merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty.

After stopping to check a suspicious vehicle parked on the side of Highway 92 near Shamrock Road, sheriff's deputies arrested Jennifer Borders, 29, of Cedaredge on a felony warrant out of Mesa County. During patdown, deputies discovered an unknown white substance in a clear baggie. Charges of possession of methamphetamine are pending lab tests. Borders was transported to Mesa County on the outstanding warrant.
A small structure fire was reported on 1600 Road at about 10 a.m. Robert Helgeland had started a small controlled burn that accidentally reached an unoccupied trailer.
A hit-and-run accident was reported at the intersection of Highway 92 and 65. Deputies were able to track down the driver who left the scene and identify her as Brittany Reimer, 29, of Montrose. There were no injuries.
An evicted tenant filed a theft complaint after his landlord destroyed property he valued in excess of $10,000. The landlord said he considered the property abandoned and of little value, so it was destroyed. The tenant was advised to pursue the matter through civil court. The tenant then contacted the sheriff's office to report the presence of marijuana in his landlord's residence. Deputies investigated and determined the marijuana was within allowable limits.
A Delta Opportunity School teacher reported the theft of a cell phone. She later obtained video of a student using the phone.
Upon returning from an out-of-town trip, a Hotchkiss resident discovered someone had been staying in a converted outbuilding on her property.
A Hotchkiss area resident saw a black Tahoe pull over on Back River Road, then heard several gunshots. The driver took off when he realized he'd been spotted. Sheriff's deputies were unable to locate the driver, but will patrol the area more frequently.
Charges of careless driving were filed against Dustin Peterson after an incident the night before on W. Main Street, Cedaredge.
The theft of a welder was reported from a garage on 1600 Road outside of Delta. Make and model of the welder are unknown. Value was placed at about $300.
Dispatch received simultaneous reports of a domestic violence incident, with the male calling in on a cell phone and the female on a land line. Deputies were dispatched to sort out the fingerpointing.
The theft of a generator, battery and gas tank was reported from a commercial storage shed on B50 Road, Delta. The Honda EG6500 generator, red in color, had previously been stolen and returned. Its value is $1,900.
Joshua Miller, 20, of Collbran suffered minor injuries when his vehicle slid into a guardrail as he was turning onto G50 Road from Highway 50.
