From the Delta Police Department:
Caisha M. King, 38, of Grand Junction was arrested and jailed on a warrant with a $500 bond. King was also issued a ticket for alleged disregarded a stop sign, failed to present evidence of insurance and drove motor vehicle while license revoked.
Jesus E. Rodriguez, 32, of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged violation of a protection order.
Bailey Cloward, 17, of Delta was issued a ticket for alleged careless driving resulting in injury after being involved in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 50 at Pioneer Road. One person was injured. Alcohol was not a factor.
Ruben M. Armendariz, 41, of Delta was arrested and jailed on a warrant with $1,500 bond.
Jason M. Ross, 31, Delta was arrested and jailed on a warrant with a $300 bond.
Jacob G. Jones, 31, of Delta was issued a ticket for alleged possession of drug paraphernalia.
Jeremy M. Jones, 41, of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged driving under the influence (drugs).
David M. Hutton, 34, of Delta was issued a ticket for alleged shoplifting. Hailey E. Nelson, 20, of Delta was issued a ticket for alleged shoplifting.
William J. West, 37, of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged violation of a protection order.
Alan S. Hawk, 33, of Cedaredge was arrested and jailed on a warrant with no bond.
Citations: Eighteen tickets for traffic violations were issued this week, five for speeding.
Please remember: All criminal charges are merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty.
From the Delta County Sheriff's Office (partial list):
A Delta area woman reported a small dog bit her on the ankle while she was riding her bike. A second incident of a similar nature was reported later in the week in the Cedaredge area.
Deputies responded to a trespassing incident on Cactus Park Road, Cedaredge. After visiting with a man and his family who had stopped briefly on the edge of the road, deputies determined the complaint was unfounded.
Deputies were dispatched to Delta County Memorial Hospital where a propane delivery man was being treated for a dog bite. The dog reportedly jumped out of the back of a pickup on 1300 Road, Delta. Carrie Love, 35, of Delta was issued a warning for ownership of a dangerous dog.
A 58-year-old Delta man reported he'd received a phone call from an individual claiming to be checking on his bank account. The man declined to provide any information over the phone.
A Delta area woman filed a complaint about a neighbor who burned her fence while conducting an agricultural burn.
Deputies executed a search warrant at a home on Fruitgrowers Road, Orchard City, after discovering suspected methamphetamine during a traffic stop. A small amount of methamphetamine was also found in the house, which is owned by the driver of the car involved in the initial stop. Charges are pending in both incidents.
The theft of firearms was reported from a storage unit in Paonia. The list of stolen items includes a Mossberg .300 Winchester bolt action rifle with a Barska scope valued at $500, a 20-gauge Mossberg bolt action shotgun valued at $300, a blue Power Bright 2300-watt AC/DC inverter valued at $250, title to a black pickup, leather art bag, vintage comic books and a gun holster. Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 874-8810. The sheriff's office cautions against keeping firearms in a storage unit.
At about 10:45 p.m., dispatch received a call from a Crawford area woman who was stuck inside the basement of her home after a heavy metal door jammed. A locksmith was able to get the door open after a 20-minute struggle.
A reportedly intoxicated male was removed from a neighbor's property near Crawford shortly after 4 p.m. No charges were filed.
A Redlands Mesa resident reported the theft of a CO2 heater from a plastic greenhouse on her property. She identified a suspect, who apparently was interrupted while trying to take a second CO2 heater.
Sheriff's deputies assisted the Cedaredge Police Department with a 77-year-old Eckert resident who was the subject of a REDDI (Report Every Drunk Driver Immediately) report.
An Orchard City resident reported the theft of a rifle from the back of his truck.
At about 2 p.m., deputies patrolling Trap Club Road met an oncoming motorist who was driving 66 miles per hour in a 45 mph zone. Refugia Rodriguez, 37, of Cedaredge, was taken into custody after they discovered he was driving with a revoked driver's license (habitual traffic offender). He is also charged with speeding and driving without proof of insurance.
