From the Delta Police Department:

Jan. 4:

Seth L. Brave, 20, of Delta was arrested and jailed on a warrant with a $500 bond.

Jan. 5:

Jared F. Jones, 33, of Paonia was arrested and jailed for alleged careless driving and DUI after being involved in a one-vehicle crash at Western Convenience in North Delta. No injuries were reported or observed. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

Margaret L. Aragon, 61, of Delta was issued a ticket for alleged failure to yield right of way after being involved in a two-vehicle crash near Meeker and E. 5th Street. No injuries were reported or observed. Both vehicles were driven from the scene.

Jan. 6:

A 13-year-old male, 16-year-old male and a 17-year-old male, all of Delta, were each issued a ticket for alleged shoplifting.

A 13-year-male of Delta is being charged with alleged harassment.

Jan. 7:

Matthew J. Bodle, 18, of Montrose was issued a ticket for alleged shoplifting. A 17-year-old female of Delta was also issued a ticket for alleged shoplifting.

Ahmad R. Glover, 33, of Delta (homeless) was arrested and jailed for alleged unlawful acts/possession or consumption of alcohol.

Citations: 16 tickets for traffic violations were issued this week, 13 for speeding.

Please remember: All criminal charges are merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty.

Jan. 4:

The theft of a test meter valued at $3,000 and a small notebook containing a fuel card was reported from the TDS facility on Highway 65 in Eckert. The vehicle was parked inside a fenced enclosure. The test meter was found just outside the fence, and without a PIN the fuel card is of no value. There are no suspects.

Sheriff's deputies assisted the Delta Police Department with a suicidal subject.

David Myers, 44, was involved in a single-car rollover near 37817 Highway 92. When sheriff's deputies arrived on the scene, Myers was still inside his 2001 Pathfinder, which was off the road and in a ditch. He was pulled out of the vehicle with the assistance of Crawford firefighters and North Fork EMTs. The Colorado State Patrol arrived on the scene and took over the investigation.

Jan. 6:

At 5 a.m., a resident observed a power pole on fire on Surface Creek Road north of Cedaredge. Cedaredge firefighters and DMEA responded with sheriff's deputies. It appears the fire was accidentally caused by a light hooked to the pole.

An ATV stolen from Upper Valley Holsteins in Austin was recovered at an address in Delta before the owner realized it had been stolen. The ATV was returned to its owner; the investigation continues as to how the ATV ended up in the backyard of the Delta home.

Jan. 8:

A Cedaredge area resident reported three revolvers were missing from his gun case -- a .45, .38 special and .25 caliber.

Jan. 10:

A Delta area couple reported a break-in at their home. Entry was apparently gained through a window adjacent to the front door. A list of stolen items includes gold rings, silver chains, gold necklaces, other miscellaneous pieces of jewelry and a .22 pistol, make unknown.
