From the Delta Police Department:

Jan. 11:

Thomas Jungers, 54, of Delta was issued a ticket for alleged driving on laned roads after being involved in a two-vehicle crash in the 1500 block of Highway 50. No injuries were reported or observed. Both vehicles were driven from the scene.

Jan. 12:

Betty J. McKinney, 74, of Crawford was issued a ticket for alleged failure to yield right of way after being involved in a two-vehicle crash in the 500 block of Meeker Street. No injuries were reported or observed. Both vehicles were driven from the scene.

Jan. 13:

Jeni R. Heidrick, 33, of Hotchkiss was arrested and jailed on a warrant with a $300 bond.

Bradley D. Long, 46, of Cedaredge was arrested and jailed for alleged disorderly conduct.

Jan. 14:

Brent D. West, 30, of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged third degree assault, and two counts of child abuse.

Jan. 15:

William C. Campbell, 51, of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged DUI, DUI per se and failure to yield right of way from a stop sign after being involved in a three-vehicle crash on Confluence Drive at Highway 348 crossing. One person sustained injuries. All three vehicles were towed from the scene.

Dustin D. Deihl, 35, of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged criminal mischief and harassment.

Jan. 17:

Gordon R. Olsen, 56, of Grand Junction was arrested and jailed on a warrant with a $1,000 bond.

Derek D. Munyon, 33 of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged criminal mischief.

Citations: Eight tickets for traffic violations were issued this week, four for speeding.

Jan. 12:

A City of Delta crew working on the road near the golf course heard a gunshot hit the water tank next to them. No fresh bullet holes were located, however, and deputies speculated the popping sound was made by expansion of the tank.

Jan. 13:

The bus garage at the North Fork Montessori School at Crawford was broken into. Gas, batteries, an assortment of tools and first aid kits valued at $1,743.98 were taken. There are no suspects.

Jan. 14:

Charles Carter, 45, of Paonia was reported missing by his wife. He was last seen Jan. 11, when it was believed he had left town to visit a friend. Family members became concerned about his absence and called 911. A description of Carter and his vehicle were entered into a national database. On the morning of Monday, Jan. 18, Carter called his family to report he was in Mesa, Ariz., and had found work in a marble quarry. Deputies are attempting to make direct contact with Carter.

Jan. 15:

Snowy, icy road conditions caused a number of accidents on Highway 65 near Cedaredge between 9 and 10 a.m.

Shortly before 9 p.m., a snowmobile trailer parked on Blue Sky Drive, Delta, caught fire. The homeowner hooked the trailer up to move it away from the house, to contain the damage.

Jan. 17:

An Orchard City woman spotted two boys first throwing rocks onto Fruitgrowers Reservoir, then venturing onto the ice. She warned them about the danger, and when they ignored her, called dispatch. Deputies contacted the boys' parents, who agreed the boys, ages 15 and 16, should stay off the ice.

CORRECTION: A report about a two-car accident that took place on Dec. 19 incorrectly identified one of the drivers as Signe DeGraffenreid. She was not the driver, but the registered owner of the vehicle involved in the accident on Highway 92.
