From the Delta Police Department:

Oct. 7:

Ronald M. Tabor, 76, of Delta was issued a ticket for alleged careless driving after being involved in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 50 at 1600 Road. No injuries were reported. One vehicle was towed from the scene.

Oct. 8:

James K. Gillespie, 84, of Paonia was issued a ticket for alleged failed to yield right of way at stop sign after being involved in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 92 at Crawford Avenue. No injuries were reported. One vehicle was towed from the scene.

Francisco J. Ponce, 18, of Delta was issued a ticket for alleged following too closely after being involved in a three-vehicle accident on Riley Lane at E. 3rd Street. No injuries were reported. All three vehicles were driven from the scene.

Oct. 10:

A 16-year-old female of Delta was issued a ticket for alleged reckless driving, failed to notify police of an accident and driving without a valid driver's license after being involved in a one-vehicle crash in the 500 block of Leon Street. No injuries were reported. The vehicle was driven from the scene.

Oct. 11:

Dylan T. Wilding, 23, of Delta was issued a ticket for alleged failed to yield right of way when entering intersection after being involved in a two-vehicle crash on Confluence Drive at W. 5th Street. No injuries were reported and both vehicles were driven from the scene.

Citations: 14 tickets for traffic violations were issued this week, eight for speeding.

From the Delta County Sheriff's Office (partial list):

Oct. 5:

A Cedaredge area woman reported ongoing concerns about a neighbor's marijuana grow operation.

A Boulder woman said her father shot a gun at her while she was trying to pick up some of her mother's possessions. She was advised to leave the area and meet the deputies at a convenience store.

A tractor/car collision resulted in injuries to a 2-year-old child. The accident occurred around 3 p.m.

Oct. 6:

A Hotchkiss man reported he hit a deer on 2100 Road just south of F Road. The deer was still alive but unable to move. The Colorado State Patrol was notified.

An Eckert man reported the theft of a Stihl chainsaw from his front porch.

Oct. 7:

A vehicle containing four passengers ended up in a ditch in the Delta area. No one was injured.

Oct. 8:

A Delta man reported someone broke into his car with a metal clothes hanger, leaving behind the hanger but taking a Bible and Social Security card.

Oct. 9:

Shots were reportedly fired inside a Paonia area home. The occupant's brother feared the ocupant was trying to kill himself.

The theft of an ATV trailer ramp was reported from a home on Hanson Mesa Road outside of Hotchkiss. The reporting party believes the thieves were interrupted during the theft and didn't have a chance to take the other ramp.

A Cedaredge area man was contacted after he failed to register as a sex offender.

Oct. 10:

A Delta area woman reported she found two puppies to purchase on Craigslist. She sent payment via Western Union but never received the bulldog puppies.

Oct. 11:

A Hotchkiss area woman reported a suspicious incident on M35 Road. She believes a deer was hit by a vehicle, then she heard four shots and the vehicle drove way. The Colorado State Patrol was notified to be on the lookout for a truck or sedan in the area with front end damage.

Two trucks and a trailer were reportedly blocking a portion of Shirl Lane in Cedaredge. The sheriff's office was asked to track down the owner of the vehicles, which had been left there for several days.
