Sept. 18:

Craig L. Smith, 33, of Delta was arrested and jailed on a warrant with a $500 bond.

Sept. 19:

Waylon J. Cross, 34, of Delta was arrested and jailed on a protection order violation.

Sept. 20:

Francisco J. Cruz, 30, of Montrose was issued a summons for shoplifting.

Leighanne M. Pate, 28, of Delta was arrested and jailed on a warrant with a $10,000 bond.

Brianna Anderson, 26, of Delta was arrested and jailed on a warrant with a $2,000 bond.

Sept. 21:

Patricio Valdez, 68, of Delta was arrested and jailed on a warrant with a $100 bond.

Edith Martinez, 37, of Delta was arrested and jailed on a warrant with a $250 bond.

Diana J. Lopez, 18, Delta was issued a Summons for disregarded stop sign/eluding a peace officer/drove when license under restraint: denied.

A juvenile male was arrested and jailed on two warrants with a no bond on both.

Sept. 22:

Jimmy S. Kennick, 49, of Eckert was arrested and jailed on a warrant with a $1500 bond.

Sept. 23:

Isaac J. Gallegos, 26, of Delta was arrested and jailed on a warrant with a $2300 bond.

Isaac J. Gallegos, 26, of Delta was arrested and jailed on possession of Schedule II controlled substance.

Anthony M. Shrader, 28, of Cedaredge was arrested and jailed on a warrant with a $0 bond.

Casey J. Mayberry, 38, of Hotchkiss was issued a summons for reckless driving/reckless endangerment/disorderly conduct.

Chelsy E. Forsberg, 39, of Delta was arrested and jailed on a warrant with a $2,000 bond.

Livan Santander Calderon, 18, of Delta was arrested and jailed on driving under the influence of drugs/speeding.

Michael D. Garcia, 21, of Delta was arrested and jailed on violation of protection order.

Sept. 24:

Tyler Saenz, 35, of Delta was issued a summons for harassment/ disorderly conduct.

Jennifer L. Higgs, 32, of Delta was arrested and jailed on DUI/careless driving/child abuse/revoked alcohol related.

Citations: Nineteen citations were issued this week for various traffic violations.

Sept. 19:

A man living along Highway 133, Paonia, reported that a man and a woman backed a big truck onto his property and began taking water out of his irrigation ditch. He estimated the couple had taken about 1,100 gallons of water. Deputies were able to contact the owner of the truck, who said as an American citizen, she had the right to take water from any source. Deputies informed her taking water somebody had already purchased constituted theft. She was given a warning.

An Orchard City resident reported someone had broken into his home and stolen a gun while he was at work.

A case of elder abuse involving a 90-year-old Austin woman was investigated.

Sept. 20:

An out-of-town man said he'd learned someone had broken into the home of his deceased mother in Eckert and was living there. The case is under investigation.

Sept. 21:

A two-car accident involving Lee Owsley and Jason Yadley occurred at the intersection of Highway 133 and Samuel Wade Road, Paonia, at about 1:30 p.m. There were no injuries. The Colorado State Patrol is handling the investigation.

Sept. 23:

A single-car rollover was reported by a passing motorist who spotted the car in a field near B Road and 1825 Road, Delta. No one was near the red Ford Mustang. A short time later, Darren Kropf, 25, and his father showed up. Kropf said he had been driving the car and was not injured in the accident. The Colorado State Patrol is handling the investigation.

Sept. 23:

A Hotchkiss man said he killed a neighbor's dog after he spotted it attacking his goats. One of the goats was down on the ground when he fired one shot. The neighbor was extremely upset about the incident until deputies explained the state's livestock protection act.

Sept. 24:

Dried marijuana and green plants valued at $20,000 were stolen from a greenhouse on 2100 Road, Delta. The case is under investigation.

Delia Ballard and Diana Carlill were involved in a multi-car accident that completely blocked Highway 65 at Austin Road at about 6 p.m. The Colorado State Patrol is investigating the accident.
