From the Delta Police Department:
Cody W. Fedler, 19, of Delta was issued a ticket for alleged disorderly conduct and destruction of property.
Eloy O. McLaughlin, 44, of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged third degree assault.
Tallon R. Schaublin, 18, of Delta was issued a ticket (on 9/11/15) for alleged theft.
Saul M. Madrid, 24, of Delta was arrested and jailed on a warrant with a $300 bond.
Erric L. West, 20, of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged third degree assault, violation of a protection order and violation of bail bond conditions.
Melissa Gage, 40, of Olathe was issued a ticket for alleged shoplifting.
Kathe M. Owens, 37, of Crawford was issued a ticket for alleged theft.
Citations: Seven tickets for traffic violations were issued this week, five for speeding.
Please remember: All criminal charges are merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty.
From the Delta County Sheriff's Office (partial list):
A two-vehicle accident blocked Highway 133 at about 7:30 a.m. The accident occurred at the Grand Avenue intersection and involved Michael Hinton and Richard Yahn, who was transported by ambulance to Delta County Memorial Hospital. The Colorado State Patrol handled the investigation.
A Delta man found nine newly balanced semi tires stacked up near the end of Escalante Canyon Road. Sheriff's deputies found no report of stolen tires. It's not known how or why the tires were left in that area.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife requested assistance with a traffic stop on Stevens Gulch Road, north of Paonia. Monte Morrell, 59, of Whitewater was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol by the Colorado State Patrol.
An Orchard City resident contacted the sheriff's office about pressing charges against a neighbor who cut down their trees.
At about 8:30 a.m., Maria Khanbekyan, 26, of Longmont was involved in a one-vehicle accident on Grange Road near Paonia. She was transported to DCMH and the Colorado State Patrol arrived to handle the investigation.
A Cedaredge area resident reported he laid a black and silver pistol, in a black case, on the hood of his truck, then forgot about it and drove off. The sheriff's office will notify the owner if the gun is turned in.
Sheriff's deputies were asked to check the condition of a horse in the Paonia area. The reporting party said the horse appears to be starving.
A Paonia area man wrote a check for seasonal labor for $115 which was later changed to $1,415 by the recipient. The check cleared the bank before he learned of the forgery.
A trash truck parked at the Roberts residence on Highway 133, Paonia, caught fire during the night. Shawn Roberts said he smelled smoke, looked out the window and saw the cab of the 1995 Freightliner on fire. It's likely the fire was caused by a faulty electrical system.
An Indiana man reports his vehicle was vandalized while parked on Black Mesa.
Shortly after 10 a.m., Ken Lindley was backing out of his driveway in Orchard City when he struck a vehicle driven by Clifford Frederick. There were no injuries; Frederick's vehicle sustained minor damage to the right passenger door. The Colorado State Patrol handled the investigation.
A man called asking about options for his sister, who left an abusive husband in New Mexico and was staying in Cedaredge. The husband called to say he was on his way from New Mexico and they were concerned he would cause problems.
At about 8:30 p.m., search and rescue personnel joined sheriff's deputies in searching for a missing 21-year-old Delta man. He was located by a Montrose County deputy near the county line at about 1 a.m.
