From the Delta Police Department:

Sept. 22:

Meghan J. Conway, 23, of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged criminal mischief.

Sherri L. Hatch, 52, of Long Beach, Calif., was issued a ticket for alleged shoplifting.

Sept. 26:

Chanslor C. Childers, 21, of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged no license plate light, owner operated uninsured motor vehicle, fictitious license plates, DUI and prohibited use of a firearm.

Samantha D. Jackson, 30, of Delta was issued a ticket for alleged dog running at large prohibited.

Sept. 27:

Michael A. Windemaker, 34, of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful distribution for sale of Schedule II controlled substance, unlawful distribution for sale of Schedule IV controlled substance, violation of a restraining order (alcohol) and violation of a restraining order (controlled substance).

Michael A. Lester, 36, of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged harassment.

Citations: 11 tickets for traffic violations were issued this week, 10 for speeding.

Sept. 21:

The theft of half a cord of wood was reported from a Cedaredge area resident. A possible suspect has been identified.

A couple who moved from Alaska to the Cedaredge area discovered a number of items missing, but it's not known whether the items were taken en route or after the couple's arrival. They are missing about $10,000 in jewelry and collector coins worth several thousand dollars.

A computer, monitor, BB gun and stereo with a total value of $1,400 were reported missing from a storage shed in Orchard City. Sometime between Aug. 1 and Sept. 21, the lock on the unit was cut off and replaced.

A Delta area man was lucky to escape with minor injuries after he rolled his car into an irrigation canal and the car began filling with water. The accident was the result of an encounter with a deer, one of three such incidents reported to dispatch last week.

Sept. 24:

The theft of a brand new Stihl chainsaw was reported by a Hotchkiss area resident.

A 13-year-old Crawford boy, the subject of multiple Facebook posts, was reported missing early Thursday morning. The boy returned home on his own later that afternoon, reportedly after spending the day hanging out in a nearby canyon.

Sept. 26:

A concerned Orchard City resident called dispatch after she saw and heard her neighbor arguing loudly with her husband. Later, she saw the neighbor come out of the house covered in bruises.

A Cedaredge area man stopped at his mailbox en route to his house and noticed a fire under the hood of his car. Cedaredge firefighters responded, but there was significant damage to the red Kia. The fire started in the engine compartment and is believed to be electrical.

Sept. 27:

A family member spotted a vehicle stolen earlier in Delta at the intersection of 2010 Road and Highway 65 while driving to Grand Mesa. The sheriff's office was notified and responded. The vehicle was later released to the owner by the authority of Delta Police Department.
