From the Delta Police Department:
Angel B. Rodriguez, 19, of Delta was arrested and jailed on a warrant with a $300 bond.
Aurelio E. Arias, 22, of Delta was issued a ticket for alleged unsafe backing after being involved in a two vehicle crash in the 900 block of Vine Street. No injuries were reported. Both vehicles were driven from the scene.
Pamela J. Anderson, 35, of Austin was arrested and jailed on a warrant with a $250 bond.
Jason M. Doering, 40, of Delta was issued a ticket for alleged third degree assault.
James A. Benjamin, 34, of Delta was issued a ticket on 8/12/15 for alleged reckless driving, drove motor vehicle with driver license under suspension, failed to remain at the scene of an accident and seatbelt violation after being involved in a single vehicle crash on North Delta bridge. The crash resulted in injuries and the vehicle was towed from the scene.
Robert J. Valdez, 56, of Delta was arrested and jailed on a warrant with no bond.
Larry A. Christian, 63, of Delta was arrested and jailed on a warrant with a $1,000 bond.
Weeden Travis Marchbanks, 41, of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged third degree assault.
Mikel E. Sims, 54, of Delta was arrested and jailed for alleged menacing, possessing a dangerous or illegal weapon, possession of a weapon by a previous offender and third degree assault.
Jennifer L. Davis, 34, of Delta was issued a ticket for alleged theft.
Citations: Seven tickets for traffic violations were issued this week, three for speeding.
Please remember: All criminal charges are merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty.
From the Delta County Sheriff's Office (partial list):
A resident of Happy Hollow Road complained about shots being fired in the neighborhood. She believed one of the shots hit the house.
A woman living on Cactus Park Road, Cedaredge, suspected a neighbor of shooting her cat. The cat survived.
Two male teenagers ran away from Gateway Youth Services south of Delta. Both males were later apprehended, and one was transferred to Grand Mesa Youth Services.
Deputies were asked to check on a dog that had been chained to a tree in the Cedaredge area for three days.
Sheriff's deputies assisted the Colorado State Patrol with an accident on Highway 50 about 10 miles northwest of Delta. CSP Trooper Evan Hillings reports three vehicles were involved in the incident, which occurred at around 11 a.m. All of the drivers escaped serious injury. Paul Hassell, 26, of Delta County was charged with reckless driving, due to his high rate of speed. Marki Hocking, also eastbound on Highway 50, was charged with careless driving. Although her vehicle did not make contact, she was also believed to be exceeding the speed limit. A third eastbound vehicle, driven by John Higgins, was hit by Hassell when he changed lanes. Higgins was not charged.
The theft of solar panels was reported from a shed on Long Gulch Road near Crawford.
A homeowner on Black Bridge Road, Paonia, reportedly shot a neighbor's dog after the dog attacked his goats. Sheriff's deputies are attempting to contact the owner of the dog, which was reportedly involved in a similar incident a year ago.
A county resident complained of trespassing chickens.
At about 2 p.m., Austin Walker of Paonia reportedly drove off the side of the road at 3700 Road and Highway 133 and his vehicle wound up in a ditch. Walker was not injured and the airbags did not deploy. The Colorado State Patrol handled the investigation.
