Lawrence Raymond Sutton died Sept. 25, 2015. He was 87.
He was born in Liberal, Kan., Oct. 31, 1927, to James Sutton and Ruth Cook. He moved with his family to the Western Slope of Colorado in 1933.
At the age of 19, he served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in the Philippine Islands. After his time in the service, he received a communication license and worked for Aeronautical Radio. He retired from Rocky Flats in 1990.
He married Dorothy Dull in 1954. They lived in Denver.
Mr. Sutton enjoyed fishing, woodworking and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy; daughter, Peggy (Ivan); two sons, Steve (Janet) and Tom (Carolyn); brothers-in-law, Harvey (Allison) and Norman (Joanne) Dull; sister-in-law, Jan Dull; six grandchildren, Andrew, Chad (Brittany) Chris, Eric, Rachael and Jacob; and three great-grandchildren, Clive, Peyton and Lilly.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
A private graveside service will be planned at a later date.

On Tuesday, Sept. 11, the Delta County Board of Commissioners called a special meeting to consider the board's response to the Bureau of Land Management's preliminary Environmental Assessment (EA) concerning the lease parcels proposed for the December BLM sale.
Several people from the North Fork were present to provide input.
