Lela Margaret "Jo" Lockhart died May 28, 2017, at Delta County Memorial Hospital. She was 94.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 10, at the Orchard Mesa Cemetery.

She was born on Oct. 11, 1922, in Grand Junction to Edward and Marguerite (Sprott) Maher. She spent her childhood in Ohio, Utah and Colorado and graduated from Hotchkiss High School in 1940.

On June 24, 1941, she married Edward Lockhart in Green River, Utah. He preceded her in death on June 26, 2013, in Delta; they shared 72 years of marriage together.

Mrs. Lockhart was a homemaker and at one time, an Avon representative.

She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, playing golf, going to the movies and playing card games, especially bridge. She belonged to various bridge clubs.

She is survived by her son, Dale Lockhart of Grand Junction; two daughters, Mary (Ric) Lockhart-Moschette of Delta and Maggie Mauzy of Eckert; five grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed; and her brother, Robert Smith.
