Leona Dacus

Longtime Delta resident Leona M. Dacus died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2017, at her home. She was 90.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 13, at Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Delta with Pastor Craig Dacus officiating. Inurnment will follow at Mesa View Cemetery.

Mrs. Dacus was born in Johnstown, Neb., Feb. 26, 1927, to Charles and Lillian (Hamilton) Conklin. She spent her childhood in Johnston and Valentine, Neb., where she graduated from school.

She enjoyed dancing, traveling, sewing, collecting spoons and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Debra (Tim) Booth of Parker; stepson, Craig (Vicki) Dacus of Oklahoma City, Okla.; step-daughter, Angelia (Alan) Cox of Russelville, Ark.; one brother, Chuck Conklin of Westminster; one sister, Patricia Linsenman of Commerce City; two grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 24 years, Terry Dacus; three brothers, Conrad, Bill and Robert Conklin; and one sister, Donna Hochhalter.
