Jeanne Gatto, who directs the community "Loving Spoonful" meal at the Teen Center in Paonia, has had to put all Wednesday meals on hold for the month of February. Gatto has some medical problems that need to be treated and has no one to step in and take over the service in the next month.
During this hiatus she is hoping to get more volunteers who will be committed to this wonderful mission of bringing fresh, from scratch, nutritious meals that can be shared by all segments of the North Fork community regardless of their ability to pay. She asks that anyone interested in getting involved either in prep, cooking, serving or cleanup contact her at firstname.lastname@example.org or write to Loving Spoonful, P.O. Box 1083, Paonia, CO 81428.
On Dec. 4 Delta County Commissioners Doug Atchley, Mark Roeber and Don Suppes denied the application of Paonia Holdings, LLC for a change of land use for the property at 41322 Highway 133, with an adjacent residence at 41402 Highway 133 and an ancillary property at 16180 Stevens Gulch Road.
The property is owned by Bowie Resources, LLC, and was formerly used as a coal load-out site.
