The League of Women Voters of Montrose County, serving Montrose and Delta counties, will be participating in National Voter Registration Day, a nationwide, nonpartisan effort to register thousands of voters on Tuesday, Sept. 22. The league will be available to assist voters who want to register online or update their registration if they have moved at the Montrose Library from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 to 5 p.m., and at the Delta library from 10 a.m. to noon.
Additionally, assistance will be available at the Montrose Library on Monday, Sept. 21, 3:30 to 5:30 for CMU students as well as library patrons.
The league is excited to be a part of National Voter Registration Day, helping to get as many people participating as possible. This is our democracy, and our elected officials need to hear from all of us on Election Day. Voter registration is the key to helping Americans participate in the political process.
As primaries and caucuses for the 2016 elections quickly approach, Sept. 22, National Voter Registration Day, is the perfect day to be working with as many eligible voters as we can so they can participate in our great democracy. The LWV empowers voters through education, registration and get-out-the-vote activities in every election. The league hosts candidate and issue forums and registration opportunities while also providing trusted and timely election information on www.VOTE411.org. Members do this because they believe our democracy is strong-est when every voice is heard. It is not too late to register to vote.
