Delta resident Lylah Yvonne Hanson Canty died Oct. 24, 2017, at Willow Tree Care Center in Delta. She was 84.
Funeral services were held Oct. 28 at All Saints Lutheran Church in Austin with Rev. Paul Rosin officiating.
She was born April 16, 1933, in Stephen, Minn., to Bennie and Clara (Scramstad) Hanson. She graduated from high school in Middle River, Minn., and attended Moorhead State College where she studied music and secretarial skills.
On June 15, 1958, she married Dulor "Del" Canty in Middle River, Minn. They shared 59 years of marriage.
Mrs. Canty was a member of All Saints Lutheran Church in Austin. She belonged to its quilter and crafter group and worked at the food bank.
She enjoyed being with her family and her church. She was a pianist, an avid gardener and a child wrangler.
She is survived by her husband, Dulor "Del" Canty of Delta; three sons, Mike (Mary) Canty of Pueblo, Patrick Canty of Delta and Jonathan Canty of Grand Junction; three daughters, Beverly O'Keeffe of Boulder, Teresa (Ron) Keith of Atascadero, Calif., and Lian Canty of Crested Butte; one brother, Eugene (Lorene) Hanson of Thief River Falls, Minn; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Ruby and Beverly; and one brother, Carl.
Memorial contributions may be made to All Saints Lutheran Church.
