Marilyn Myrle Bailey of Crawford died Nov. 15, 2016. She was 80.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, at Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Hotchkiss.
She was born in Menlo, Kan., May 29, 1936. She moved to Colorado with her parents and attended Widefield Country and Palmer high schools in Colorado Springs.
She married Richard Bailey and they moved to Crawford in 1962.
Mrs. Bailey was skilled at raising livestock, producing many award winners for 4-H projects. She was a 4-H leader, Master Gardener and enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening. She and her husband founded and have run the Hotchkiss Sheep Dog Trials for the past 13 years. She worked at the pallet mill, the packing house in Paonia and at Zack's in Hotchkiss, where she made pies.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Richard; two sons, Bill (Lee) and Kevin (Pam); four grandchildren, Tamsen, Tell, Tom and Theresa; and three great-grandchildren.
