Cedaredge resident Marjorie Loveland Becker Doty died Nov. 12, 2017. She was 92.
She was born on June 4, 1925, to Charles and Emma Loveland in Benkelman, Neb. She grew up in Parks and graduated from Parks Consolidated High School in 1942. She moved to Denver shortly after.
In 1943 she married George Becker; he preceded her in death in 1956. After his death, she attended Opportunity School to learn stenography and typing. She worked as a staff assistant at several downtown Denver firms until she retired in 1990.
In 1964, she married Harold Doty, and they moved to Eckert after her retirement. After his death in 1994, she moved to Cedaredge.
Mrs. Doty was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, serving as treasurer and newsletter editor. She was also a skilled seamstress who made clothing and a wedding gown for each of her daughters. She enjoyed spending time with family.
She is survived by her daughters, Susan (Kim) Steiner and Patricia (Loren) Rosendale; five grandchildren, Leif Tor and Erik Steiner, Stacie Martin and Michael Rosendale; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and two stepsons, James and Fred Doty.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands, George Becker and Harold Doty; and her seven siblings.
