Delta resident Marjorie Joyce Pell died Sunday, March 19, 2017, at Willow Tree Care Center in Delta. She was 80.

Marjorie Joyce Carpenter was born in Grand Junction Feb. 10, 1937, to Willis and Margaret (Clark) Carpenter. She spent her childhood and attended school in California and Fruita.
On June 1, 1957, she married William Pell in Grand Junction.
She was a longtime resident of Cedaredge before moving to Delta six years ago. She was a grocery clerk at Ranch Market in Delta for many years. She enjoyed ceramics and yard work.
She is survived by her sons, Rick (Shanna) Pell of Caney, Kan., Les Pell of California and Jim (Darcy) Pell of Delta; her daughter, Billie (Gary) Meadows of Fort Morgan; her sister, Gwen Patterson of Midland, Texas; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Pell; two brothers, Jim and Russell DeWitt; and a sister, Irene Latham.
Memorial contributions may be made to her granddaughters' ministry work with university students in Brussels, Belgium, via The Sanctuary of Morgan County, 14587 US Hwy. 34, Fort Morgan, CO 80701.

At about 9:50 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, officers of the Delta Police Department were dispatched to a robbery reported at Arby's, located at 107 Gunnison River Drive. An extensive search of the area was conducted and the suspect was not located.
The suspect was reported to have walked into Arby's and after a brief conversation with an employee, was able to leave the store with a small amount of cash and coins.
