Mary Heath

Eckert resident Mary Heath died Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015, at home. She was 64.

A funeral service was held Monday, Dec. 7, at Cowboy at the Cross Church in Cory with Shane Kier officiating.

Mary Charlene Hayes was born in Camp Lejeune, N.C., Oct. 10, 1951, to Charles and Helen (Browning) Hayes. As a U.S. Marine's child, she lived in several places and spent most of her childhood in Riverside, Calif.

On April 3, 1970, she married John Heath in Riverside, Calif.

Mrs. Heath enjoyed gardening, her dogs, hiking, raising and breeding quality horses with her family, playing guitar and singing. She was a member of the Cedaredge Assembly of God, Tandem Families and Al-Anon Family Group.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, John Heath; two sons, Matthew (Julianne) Heath of Wellington and Jack (Mariah) Heath of Cedaredge; three sisters, Lois (Robert) Phillips of Brentwood, Calif., Sue (Jack) Dennis of New Mexico, and Peggy Hayes of Eugene, Ore.; one brother, Tom Hayes of California; and five grandchildren.
