Former Cedaredge resident Mary Kehmeier died Sunday, Feb. 28, 2016, at Colorow Care Center in Olathe. She was 93.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 9, at Cedaredge Community United Methodist Church. Inurnment will be at Cedaredge Cemetery.
Mary Elizabeth Briscoe was born in Yuma June 12, 1922, to Richard and Nell (Wilson) Briscoe. She spent her childhood in Yuma and Hill City, Kan. When she was a junior, her family moved to Cedaredge where she graduated from Cedaredge High School. She received a bachelor's degree from Western State College and a master's degree from Utah State University.
She married John "Jack" Kehmeier on July 8, 1945, in Cedaredge.
Mrs. Kehmeier was an active member of Cedaredge Community United Methodist Church and was involved in UMWA. She was a member of 3 Corner Club and various bridge clubs. She enjoyed fishing, playing bridge, knitting, traveling with her husband and watching her children and grandchildren play sports.
She is survived by her three sons, Richard (Andrea) Kehmeier of Conifer, William (Cindy) Kehmeier of Eckert and Kenneth (Lorrie) Kehmeier of Fort Collins; a daughter, Roxana (Robert) Brown of Parker; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Kehmeier was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Kehmeier; an infant daughter; and a great-grandchild, Kimber Brown.
