Mary Ellen Threewit died March 17, 2016, at her home in Paonia. She was 91.
At her request, no services will be held. Cremation has taken place and her ashes will be scattered at a favorite hunting place.
Mrs. Threewit was born in Belvedere Gardens, Calif., March 27, 1924, to William Turner and Nesta Carrillo.
She and her husband lived in Lake Isabella, Calif., before moving to Paonia in 1970.
She worked at the Cave Café and helped start The Diner with her daughter Donna.
Mrs. Threewit enjoyed her family, hunting, fishing and the mountains.
She is survived by two daughters, Donna (Bob) Reedy and Roxana (Paul) McRobbie; a grandson, Jason Elliott; four great-grandsons, Zayden Elliott, Brandon and Ethan Campbell and Dejohn Romero; and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie; a son, Paul Jr.; a granddaughter, Dawn Elliott; and a brother, William Turner.
Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory handled the arrangements.
