Longtime Delta resident Maxine Marie Schull died Friday, Dec. 9, 2016, at HopeWest in Grand Junction. She was 83.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, at Delta City Cemetery with Pastor James Gall officiating.
Mrs. Schull was born in Delta June 6, 1933, to Oscar and Leona (Todd) Vowell. She attended schools in California and in Delta. She graduated from high school in Delta.
On Feb. 24, 1950, she married Donald Lee Schull in Delta.
She was with the American Legion in Paonia for three years. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, spending time in the mountains and spending time with her family.
She is survived by one son, Michael (Gail) Schull of Delta; one daughter, Pamela (Carl) Toole of Grand Junction; two sisters, Eva Faudree and Delia (Marion) Shaw, all of Grand Junction; six grandchildren, Tonya (Rick) Kraai and Tela (David Horn), all of Delta, Brenda (Tim) VanderLinde of Eckert, Nicole (Shaun) Barnard of Cedaredge, Jason Galvin of Grand Junction and Jodie (Trucker) Reed of Fruita; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild due in March.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Schull; a brother, Waldo Vowell; and a sister, Berniece DeGuelle.

At about 9:50 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, officers of the Delta Police Department were dispatched to a robbery reported at Arby's, located at 107 Gunnison River Drive. An extensive search of the area was conducted and the suspect was not located.
The suspect was reported to have walked into Arby's and after a brief conversation with an employee, was able to leave the store with a small amount of cash and coins.
