Mildred "Millie" Louise Evans of Gainesville, Ga., died July 21, 2017. She was 68.
Mildred Zahniser was born Jan. 15, 1949, in Montrose to Ivan and Miriam (Manker) Zahniser. She spent her childhood in Montrose and was active in 4-H. She graduated from Montrose High School in 1967.
She earned a cosmetology degree and practiced as a beauty operator for 12 years in Montrose, Colorado Springs and Denver. After she married, she had a home day care and worked for a private agency providing services for senior clients.
On Sept. 20, 1975, she married Richard Evans in Colorado Springs. He was a minister and she served with him in the Christian ministry in Manchester, Iowa, Arlington, Minn., Delray Beach, Fla., Gainesville, Ga., and Colorado Springs.
Mrs. Evans was a member of Blackshear Place Baptist Church and was involved in the program of spiritual life at Lanier Village Estates. She enjoyed cooking, baking, knitting, sewing, crocheting and especially quilting.
She is survived by her husband of almost 42 years, Richard of Gainesville, Ga.; daughter, Emily (Paul) Grady of Maryville, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Joshua, Leah and Hannah Grady of Maryville, Tenn.; sister, Geneva (Wayne) Lechner of Delta; three brothers, Richard Zah-niser of Westminster, James (Kim) Zahniser of Montrose and Kenneth (Deana) Zahniser of Montrose; and extended family.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 27, at Crippin Funeral Home, 802 East Main Street, Montrose. Burial will follow at Grandview Cemetery in Montrose.

At about 9:50 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, officers of the Delta Police Department were dispatched to a robbery reported at Arby's, located at 107 Gunnison River Drive. An extensive search of the area was conducted and the suspect was not located.
The suspect was reported to have walked into Arby's and after a brief conversation with an employee, was able to leave the store with a small amount of cash and coins.
