Kayla Milstein, a 2016 Hotchkiss High School graduate, is the recipient of a $1,000 Built Ford Tough scholarship offered through the National FFA scholarship program.
The daughter of Jeff and Karen Milstein, Kayla plans to study ag science at Colorado Mesa University. She would like to be a rancher.
Ford Motor Co. has provided the National FFA Foundation more than $10 million in scholarships since the introduction of the first F-Series truck in 1948. Only 536 scholarships were awarded this year by Ford Motor Co. Hellman Motor Company is the partnering Ford dealer in Delta County.
On Dec. 4 Delta County Commissioners Doug Atchley, Mark Roeber and Don Suppes denied the application of Paonia Holdings, LLC for a change of land use for the property at 41322 Highway 133, with an adjacent residence at 41402 Highway 133 and an ancillary property at 16180 Stevens Gulch Road.
The property is owned by Bowie Resources, LLC, and was formerly used as a coal load-out site.
