Delta MOPS (Mothers Of Preschoolers) is starting its 2015-2016 meetings, and will now have TWO sessions! The first meetings of the year are Thursday, Sept. 3, at the Delta First Baptist Church, 1250 Pioneer Road (just down the street from Delta High School). The morning session is from 9 to 11:15 a.m., and (new this year!) are evening meetings, which will be from 6 to 8:15 p.m. A ticket for a special door prize raffle is offered as an "on-time reward."
What exactly is MOPS? It is a wonderful group that exists to encourage, equip and develop every mother of children prenatal through kindergarten to realize her potential as a woman, mother and leader. MOPS recognizes that the years from infancy through kindergarten are foundational in a mother-child relationship and are filled with unique needs. The twice-monthly gatherings include life-enriching speakers, informative demonstrations, creative activities and crafts, small group discussions, fun socializing with other adults, and a yummy potluck meal. For your kiddos there is quality, loving childcare where they will have their own special snack and a fun craft.
Please call Hannah Rundle at (970) 433-6214 if you have any questions.
On Dec. 4 Delta County Commissioners Doug Atchley, Mark Roeber and Don Suppes denied the application of Paonia Holdings, LLC for a change of land use for the property at 41322 Highway 133, with an adjacent residence at 41402 Highway 133 and an ancillary property at 16180 Stevens Gulch Road.
The property is owned by Bowie Resources, LLC, and was formerly used as a coal load-out site.
