A new bishopric has been called to serve in the Cedaredge Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Craig Signs was newly sustained as the bishop. His counselors are Brad Call and Sam Stilson. All three men are residents of Cedaredge.
Stake president Nicolas T. Taylor of Montrose presided at the proceedings July 31 in the chapel at 1535 SW 9th Street in Cedaredge. Other leaders and local members were also present.
Bishop Signs replaces Nate Tullis who had served as bishop since 2006. Generally a bishopric serves for approximately five years.
Approximately 439 members of the church are located in the ward. The church has over 15.6 million members worldwide (ldsnewsroom.org).
Members of the church are organized into congregations called wards (larger) and branches (smaller) that meet together frequently for spiritual and social enrichment.
Each ward and branch comprises a specific geographic region. Cedaredge Ward includes Cedaredge, Eckert, Cory and Austin.
Church services are 9 a.m. to 12 noon every Sunday. Visitors are welcome.
