Alexis Nelson is the new manager at the Cedaredge Library.
She was introduced to the Cedaredge Town Board at a July 13 work session that was held in the library meeting room.
According to LaDonna Gunn with the Delta County Libraries, Nelson began her new job officially on Monday, July 17. She won't be seen regularly at the library, though, until she completes some training and orientation.
Nelson told the DCI that she and her husband come from Boulder and that they have relatives who live in this area.
Gunn also reported that activity attendance at the Cedaredge Library is growing. Also, there were 4,012 visits to the Cedaredge Library during June, she told the town trustees.
The Cedaredge Public Library Foundation, which owns the library building, has produced preliminary drawings for a building remodel and expansion, Gunn reported.
On Dec. 4 Delta County Commissioners Doug Atchley, Mark Roeber and Don Suppes denied the application of Paonia Holdings, LLC for a change of land use for the property at 41322 Highway 133, with an adjacent residence at 41402 Highway 133 and an ancillary property at 16180 Stevens Gulch Road.
The property is owned by Bowie Resources, LLC, and was formerly used as a coal load-out site.
