HopeWest is hosting a new weekly grief support group in Delta for anyone coping with the death of a loved one.
Mending Hearts will meet every Thursday for 10 weeks beginning Sept. 15 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at Westminster Hall at 135 East 4th Street in Delta.
"Support groups can help put the loss of a loved one in perspective and reduce the sense of isolation that often accompanies loss," said Pam Anderson, senior clinical director of support services.
Each support group begins with a brief look at grief and bereavement and then is followed by a small group discussion.
Mending Hearts is free of charge and is open to anyone coping with the death of a loved one. Pre-registration is not required and members may join at any time. For more information please call 970-248-8844 or email AdultSupport@HopeWestCO.org.
On Tuesday, Sept. 11, the Delta County Board of Commissioners called a special meeting to consider the board's response to the Bureau of Land Management's preliminary Environmental Assessment (EA) concerning the lease parcels proposed for the December BLM sale.
Several people from the North Fork were present to provide input.
