The Cedaredge Town Board has changed the start time for regular board meetings and work sessions. The decision was made Sept. 21.
The new start time is 5 p.m. The reason given for the change is so residents, trustees and town staff don't have to go out after dark in winter for meetings. Also a concern noted in past is negotiating the sloped and icy Civic (Community) Center parking lot by foot for winter night meetings.
Mayor Gene Welch said that if the new time doesn't work out it might be changed back in the future.
The new 5 p.m. start time will begin with the Oct. 12 trustee work session.
One other meeting change has been made also: the town board's December regular meeting will take place on the first Thursday of the month, Dec. 7. It is a one-time-only change.
