Contra dancing will be featured in the La Puerta Ballroom, 523 1/2 Main Street, Grand Junction, on Saturday, Nov. 22. The evening begins with a new dancer’s workshop at 7 p.m., followed by dancing from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m.

On Thursday, Nov. 20, from 10 a.m. to noon, Delta County Economic Development is hosting a community presentation by Dave Russell of Calix Corp. It will take place at the Delta Center Auditorium at 822 Grand Avenue, Delta.

A joyous Thanksgiving service will be held Thursday, Nov. 27, at 10 a.m. at the Christian Science Society, 8th and Meeker in Delta. Citations expressing gratitude from the Bible and “Science & Health with Key to the Scriptures” by Mary Baker Eddy will be read, followed by an opportunity for those in the congregation to share remarks and testimonies of personal thanks, gratitude and healing.

On Saturday, Nov. 22, a food drive will be held to help the Surface Creek Community Services Food Bank. Volunteers from the food bank will be collecting food at Cedaredge FoodTown from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
