Terry Dean Boyden of Glenwood Springs died Friday, July 11, 2014, at Delta County Memorial Hospital, as a result of injuries sustained in an auto accident. He was 33.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 19, at Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Delta with James Gall officiating. Interment will be at Olathe Cemetery.
Par Reh died Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction. He was 59.
Richard Lampton died July 12, 2014, while on a trip to Gallup, N.M. with his wife. He was 65.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m, Thursday, July 17, at Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Delta.
Mr. Lampton was born in Cedaredge June 17, 1949, to Leonard and Euella Lampton.
He married Martha Phipps Oct. 20, 1967, in Ottawa, Kan.
Maggie Matilda “Tillie” Gehring died July 4, 2014, at her home in Redmond, Wash. She was 94.
She was a Delta High School graduate.
Former Delta County resident John Joseph Lofstedt Jr. died Friday, July 11, 2014, at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs. He was 44.
A viewing for family and friends will be held from 5-7 p.m., Saturday, July 19, at Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Delta. A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m., Sunday, July 20, at the home of Mildred and Larry Eldredge, 13808 Pumpkin Hollow Road, Hotchkiss.
Frank Brodel, known to most as Farmer Frank, died Saturday, July 12, 2014, at his home in Hotchkiss. He was 91.
At his request, a private family service will be held at his home.
Mr. Brodel was born in Germany. When he was 3 years old he moved with his parents to Reading, Pa.
Uriah Shaffer of Carbondale entered eternal life on Saturday, May 31, 2014, at the age of 39 following a kayak accident on the Crystal River near Marble.
Uriah was born on Aug. 16, 1974, and spent his childhood in Delta and Grand Junction, graduating from Fruita Monument High School in 1993.
He graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in construction management in 1999.
Uriah lived every day to the fullest and was a true renaissance man.
Cedaredge resident Deborah “Debi” K. Fisher died Friday, July 11, 2014, at San Juan Living Center in Montrose. She was 67.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
Mrs. Fisher was born in Gilroy, Calif., May 29, 1947, to James and Ruby (Way) Allen.
Heber Richardson died July 8, 2014, at Delta County Memorial Hospital. He was 72.
He was born in Weir, Miss., April 7, 1942, to Samuel and Jenni Richardson. He spent most of his life in the Delta area.
He enjoyed the outdoors, woodworking, hunting and his dogs.
Geraldine “Gerrie” Ann Wolf died Saturday, July 12, 2014, at her home east of Cedaredge. She was 83.
She was born in Colorado Springs Nov. 28, 1930, to Earl and Ruth (Knopp) Miller. She graduated from Falcon High School and played basketball and softball in a Colorado Springs business league.
She married Roy Wolf July 31, 1949. They ranched together for 65 years in El Paso and Delta counties.
Kenton “Ken” Wallace Mellott died Friday, July 11, 2014, at Paonia Care and Rehabilitation Center in Paonia. He was 95.
He was born in Monticello, Utah, May 25, 1919, to George and Laura (Hughes) Mellott. He lived in Colorado, California, Utah and Oregon while growing up.
He served in the U.S. Air Force beginning in 1943. He obtained the rank of E9 before retiring in November 1963. He served in both World War II and the Korean War.
