Alta Harrah of Delta died Aug. 11, 2014, from a long illness with complications caused from pneumonia. She was 78.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 19, at All Saints Lutheran Church in Austin. Burial will follow at Mesa View Cemetery in Delta.
Alta Elizabeth Rover was born in Greene, Iowa, Sept. 11, 1935, to Herman and Elizabeth (Pagles) Rover.
She married Marvin Harrah on Feb. 26, 1954, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Mrs. Harrah enjoyed sewing, crocheting, camping, fishing and motorcycling.
She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Washburn, Iowa. She was baptized at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Greene, Iowa. After moving to Colorado in 1972, the Harrahs were charter members at All Saints Lutheran Church in Austin.
Mrs. Harrah was a nurse’s aide at La Porte City, Iowa. After moving, she received her CNA designation and worked at Bethesda Nursing Home in Delta as well as in private home health.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Marvin Harrah of Delta; three children, Brad (LuAnn) Harrah of Grand Junction, Mitch Harrah and Connie (Steve) Herrera, all of Delta; four  grandchildren, Kree (Burt) Vincelette, Hans (Melissa) Herrera, Ceirra (Mark) O’Haryre and Cassey (Chris Goddard) Herrera; eight great-grandchildren (and one on the way); and three sisters, Irene (Cecil) Stanbrough of Greene, Iowa, DeLores Osborne of Sumter, S.C., and LaVonne Walters of Presque Isle, Maine.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Dale Rover; and two brothers-in-law, Dennis and Robert.
