Twila Roberta Watson of Cedaredge died from heart disease Aug. 13, 2014, at SpringBrooke Assisted Living in Denver. She was 85.
She was born on an Oklahoma oil field Sept. 15, 1928, to Tom and Lola Coggburn.
She married Robert Watson. In 1952 they moved from Oklahoma to Cedaredge where they managed an orchard and ranch for several years before moving into town.
Mrs. Watson was a member of local churches, promoted the area in the real estate industry, served on the board of directors of the local telephone company and was a substitute teacher. She enjoyed traveling, playing bridge, hunting arrowheads, playing golf and visiting with her longtime friends. She was an orignal member of the Three Corner Club started in the early 1950s.
She is survived by her sons, Robert (Robin) of Denver, James (Kathleen) of Benicia, Calif., and David (Jayne) of Cedaredge; six grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua; and her husband of 61 years, Robert L. Watson, in November 2007.
Graveside services were held Aug. 16 at Cedaredge Cemetery with Pastor Vicki Street officiating.
