a08 morrisLilly “Merrell” Morris died Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at her home in Olathe. She was 76.

Funeral services were held June 23 at the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn in Delta. Interment followed at Pea Green Cemetery.
Mrs. Morris was born in Olathe Sept. 20, 1937, to Ted and Alma (Pfister) McCracken. She grew up in Olathe.

She attended school in Olathe except for one year in Delta and one year in Pea Green. She graduated from Olathe High School in 1955.
She married Bobby Morris Dec. 19, 1961, at the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn in Delta, where she was a member.
She enjoyed her family and friends, sewing, quilting, gardening, baking bread, cooking and canning.
Mrs. Morris is survived by her husband of 52 years, Bobby Morris of Olathe; four sons, Rod (Lynell) Morris of Lakewood Village, Texas, Eric (Christa) Morris of Vici, Okla., Warren Morris and John (Emalee) Morris, all of Montrose; three daughters, Kris (Tim) Gibson of Olathe, Valerie (Darrell) Easter of Delta and Tonya (Jerod) Wilson of Grand Junction; two daughters-in-law, Sherry Morris of Colorado Springs and Cheryl (Donnie) Smith of Olathe; five brothers, Alfred (Minnie) McCracken and Gary McCracken, all of Olathe, Lonnie (Debbie) McCracken of Shingle Springs, Calif., Kenny (Charlene) McCracken of Montrose and Doug (Nina) McCracken of Olathe; four sisters, Lucile (Roy) Long of Cory, Nora Lindsey of Olathe, Margaret (Ron) Jackson of Tucson, Ariz., and Sandy (Larry) Lugard of Delta; two brothers-in-law, Wiley (Beverly) Morris of Taloga, Okla., and Wayne Coleman of Vici, Okla.; three sisters-in-law, Virgie Morris of Vici, Okla., Velta (Ronnie) Nicholson of Sayre, Okla., and Betty Carey of Montrose; 24 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Mitch Morris; a sister, Linda Greene; a brother, Johnny McCracken; two sisters-in-law, Delephene Coleman and Kathy McCracken; two brothers-in-law, Garvin Morris and Bill Lindsey; four grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory handled the arrangements.
