Rosie Aguilar died Saturday, June 21, 2014, at her home in Montrose. She was 88.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m., Thursday, June 26, and a Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, June 27, both at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Delta. Interment will follow the Mass at Mesa View Cemetery in Delta.
Rosie Gomez was born in Thrall, Texas, Feb. 3, 1926, to Miguel and Virginia (Trevino) Gomez. She spent her childhood and attended school in Thrall.
Mrs. Aguilar lived in Delta from 1993 until 2001 when she moved to Montrose.
She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Delta.
She enjoyed her grandchildren, farming, gardening and needlepoint.
Mrs. Aguilar is survived by her children, Joe (Guadalupe) Aguilar of Grand Junction, Gloria Aguilar and Martin Aguilar Jr., both of Montrose, Isabel Rodriguez of Placentia, Calif., Eva (Elijio) Rivera of Corona, Calif., and Abel (Delia) Aguilar of Fullerton, Calif.; a brother, Manuel (Marina) Gomez of Lubbock, Texas; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Davey Aguilar; a daughter-in-law, Alice Aguilar; and two grandsons, Verlon and Martin J. Aguilar.
