Larry Allen Bellmire was born in Cedaredge on Feb. 5, 1938, to Clarence and Lavonne (Wright) Bellmire. His mother died when he was very young and Clarence remarried Doris Cottier.
After graduating high school in 1956, he joined the Navy with childhood friends Jim Cinnamon and Jerry Pittsinger. These friendships lasted a lifetime.
He left the Navy after serving his country for four years.
He met Linda Liggett, married her in 1963 and they had two daughters. They lived in Southern California as Larry made a career at Pacific Bell, first as an installer and working his way up to middle management. They moved to Northern California in 1974. Larry and Linda divorced in 1979, at which time Larry moved to San Francisco and spent weekends with his kids in the city.
In 1995, he retired from Pacific Bell and moved back to Delta. He enjoyed being with old friends and working on his beautiful yard. He was active for a time with the Elks, loved his poker and coffee groups, and was always there to lend a helping hand to those who needed it.
Larry is survived by daughters Lori (Ben) and Lisa (Aydin); grandsons Wyatt, Morgan, Kaya, Levi and Luka; brother Tracy; and sister Sue; (predeceased by brother Fred); and many nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and -nephews.
Larry cherished his relationships with many people all over Delta, California and around the world. Your friendship gave him so much joy and strength.
