Walter David Marshall died July 12, 2014, at his home in Delta. He was 89.
He was born in Anderson, Calif., Dec. 16, 1924, to Crocket and Alberta Smith. He was adopted by Lila and John Marshall in 1934 and was raised in Red Bluff, Calif.
He served as a medic in the U.S. Army for three years during World War II.
In 1947 he was involved in a car accident that left him partially but permanently paralyzed.
Willard “Tiny” Joseph Chapdelaine of Paonia died Monday, July 7, 2014, at Paonia Care and Rehabilitation Center in Paonia. He was 85.
A rosary was recited and a Mass of the Resurrection was held July 12 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Mr. Chapdelaine was born in Kinde, Mich., June 5, 1929, to Nelson and Amelia Chapdelaine. He spent his childhood in Kinde and Caseville, Mich. He graduated from Pigeon High School in Pigeon, Mich., in 1947. He attended the University of Ottawa in Ontario, Canada.
He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army from 1950-1953.
Paonia resident Judy Ellen (Farmer) English left us on July 3, 2014, to join up with her parents and other loved ones.
She will be missed dearly by her husband, children, grandkids, family and friends.
