The Delta Police Department has issued a warrant for the arrest of Roberto Nieto in connection with the drive-by shooting that took place Sunday, June 22.
Initially it was thought more suspects were involved.
After investigation, the DPD focused solely on Nieto, 30, of Delta and Montrose. Nieto is 5’11” tall, weighs 200 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes. He wears glasses and has multiple tattoos on his arms, chest and throat. Nieto is wanted for alleged felony menacing, possession of a weapon by a previous offender and reckless endangerment in connection with the incident. Nieto is believed to be armed and dangerous and extreme caution should be used.

No one was injured in the shooting, which took place early the morning of June 22. According to a DPD press release, two people reported they were shot at while walking in the 600 block of Grand Avenue. That information was later amended. Just one person was fired upon.
There’s still no word on what motivated Nieto to shoot at the victim, who was reportedly an acquaintance.
