According to a notice posted last week on the county website, effective July 7, the Delta driver’s license office will resume operating five days a week.
The office located downstairs in the county courthouse is staffed and run by the Colorado Department of Motor Vehicles.
It is not a county service.
The office’s hours had been cut back to three days per week earlier this year. That move led to long lines and complaints from people who are required by law to renew their driver’s licenses or face penalties.
The county has been notified that the DMV is considering use of a customer kiosk at the Delta office in future.
The current, five-day hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday. The office is closed for lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
