School
Monday October 20, 2014

School registration will be taking place over the next two weeks, a sure sign that summer is winding down. The first day of school is Wednesday, Aug. 20, but before then new teachers will attend an orientation session and building principals will gather for a planning retreat with district administrators.

While there have been some changes in building administrators for the 2014-15 school year, none involved new hires. In every case, vacancies were filled with transfers or promotions of existing school district employees.
At the district office, the leadership team remains the same, with Caryn Gibson as superintendent. Assistant superintendent Todd Markley handles human resources, athletics and transportation; assistant superintendent Kurt Clay is responsible for student achievement, public relations and the district accountability committee.
Building administration consists of:
Delta High School —Derek Carlson, principal; Rosie Johnson, assistant principal; Jeremy McCormick, assistant principal/athletic director; Holly Teyler Crowder and Shawna Magtutu, counselors.
Delta Middle School — Adam Truitt, principal; Jennifer Magner, assistant principal; Timothy Fifer, assistant principal;
