Beverly Moore was seated as the newest member of the Orchard City Town Board during the trustees’ regular monthly meeting on May 14.
Moore was appointed to complete the remaining two years of Marsha Thomas’ term.
In other business at the Orchard City Town Board meeting on May 14, the following matters were dealt with:
• Mayor Don Suppes named trustees to the following committee assignments: finance, Ken Volgamore and Jan Gage; water, Bob Eckles and Jim Boyd; parks, Moore and Craig Fuller; roads, Volgamore and Fuller; planning, Eckels and Moore; Juvenile Diversion, Gage; Surface Creek APC, Eckels; personnel, Gage and Boyd; Delta County Housing Authority, Volgamore; Delta County Economic Development, Gage.
• Trustees questioned staff on an increased payment to a pest sprayer. The normal $60 bill for treating Town Hall had swollen to $490. Staff explained that the payment included an additional $430 in tree spraying at Town Park that had been completed.
• Trustees awarded Bob Brewer Construction the work of installing Tank Hill automation equipment. Brewer’s bid was $57,193 and was the lowest of three bids offered by contractors.
• Trustees approved a contract with the Field of Dreams organization for use of facilities at Town Park.
