Hotchkiss junior pitcher/center fielder Devan Rupe was named the 2A Western Slope Player of the Year. He led the conference in batting average (.701), slugging percentage (1.134), RBIs (41), on-base percentage (.727),and earned run average (1.44).


Rupe also led Class 2A in batting average, on-base percentage, and hits (49) and was No. 2 in slugging percentage and RBIs. He broke five school records, according to head coach Jason Yantzer: number of hits during the season, doubles (14), batting average, on-base percentage, and earned run average.
In addition to Rupe, first-team honors went to sophomores Cesar Gonzalez (P, SS) and Cole Carvill (OF), junior Kaleb Bayles (1B, OF) and senior Hank Edwards (C, SS).
Mitch McCurdy, who led the conference in runs with 38, was named All-Conference Honorable Mention.
The Bulldogs ended the season at 16-4 overall and were 12-0 to win the conference title.
