Six graduating Delta County athletes and one Olathe High School runner have been selected to participate in the 2014 Colorado High School Coaches Association’s All-State Games. Now in their 58th year, the all-class games feature competition from among the best senior athletes in the state.


Ty Coats of Paonia (152 pounds) and Garrett Toothaker of Hotchkiss (113 pounds) were selected for the wrestling team. In football, Tony Darling of Paonia made the South team roster at defensive lineman, offensive lineman and kicker.
Carson Pipher of Paonia will play on one of four teams in the girls’ basketball tournament.
All-state runners Natalie Anderson and Jennifer Celis were both selected to represent Hotchkiss High School in cross country, and Hotchkiss cross country coach Kelly Cowan was one of four coaches selected to coach the games.
Freddie Ramirez of Olathe made the boys’ cross country roster.
This year’s games will be held June 9-14 at Adams State University in Alamosa.
