Chelsea Meilner, a cross country and track runner for Paonia High School, was the overall female finisher with a time of 22:19. Race regulars Joan Levy won the women’s masters division, and Jamie Meck won the women’s division.
Tim Meilner, whose entire family ran in the race, took the men’s masters division. Cameron Van Vleet won the men’s youth division.
A dozen runners opted to take on the more challenging Jumbo Mountain course.
Despite the 400-foot gain in elevation and rough trails, first-time competitors Stuart Kramer and Paul Kimpling, respectively, finished second and third overall.
Kramer bested last year’s Jumbo course time of 24:24 by almost 3 minutes.
Shannon Gander was the first female to complete the jumbo course in this year’s race.
